Ways to Prevent Ingrown Toenails, Part One

Although the toe is a small and oft forgotten member of the body, when affected, it can make itself known loud and clear. If you’ve ever had an ingrown toenail, you know exactly what I mean. Good day friends in Sioux Falls; this is Doctor Gabe Rodriguez, and today I would like to share part one of a three part podiatry series about how you can prevent ingrown toenails.

One of the most important factors to keep in mind regarding ingrown toenails is the proper cutting of the nail. So many people cut their toenails incorrectly and thus leave themselves susceptible to painful foot problems. You should make sure that you always cut your nail straight across, and never round down your toenails into the sides.

If you think you may already have developed an ingrown toenail, or if you need further advice on the proper care of the foot, please feel free to come and see me, Doctor Rodriguez, anytime here at my office in Sioux Falls.
