The pain and discomfort from a Morton’s neuroma is typically felt between the third and fourth toes. It occurs as a result of an inflamed nerve that is located in this part of the foot. It can be accompanied by a burning sensation or a feeling that there is a lump inside the foot. A Morton's neuroma can happen as a result of wearing shoes that do not have adequate room for the toes to move freely in or from consistently wearing high heels. A proper diagnosis includes having a physical exam performed and may be followed by an imaging study such as an MRI. What Increases the Chances of Having Morton’s Neuroma?

• Jogging, running or any sport that involves constant impact to the foot
• Flat feet, bunions, and any other foot deformities

Morton’s neuroma is a very treatable condition. Orthotics and shoe inserts can often be used to alleviate the pain on the forefront of the feet. In more severe cases, corticosteroids can also be prescribed.
